It would be nice, since a lot of those 70s shows portrayed rednecks with liberal values and questioned the privitization of government.

Weak only because nothing got a chance to succeed. I remember being disappointed every time one of those shows got cancelled, from Manimal to Automan to Misfits of Science.

Ironically they weren't as upset about taxes as they were about the lack of domestic spending. But try telling the Tea Party folks about that now.

Columbo marathon!

Stats be damned, I've learned a lot from these comments and the article.

Duck Tales was very popular…?

Nice, keep treating "the middle" as one big cesspool. That's how we got in this mess.

There was a damn blizzard last night. I'm stuck in the middle of my parking lot, so I said fuck it and went back inside.

Let him eat cake.

I (cue card) gotta (cue card) tell ya…

The Onion's 20th century in review book had a great headline about that: "Japan Forms Poorly Thought Out Alliance With White Supremacists"

Can I be Italy? I'll be Italy. Which side am I on?

Indeed, a classic horror movie role would have given Thicke a triple double.

Why do they like Japan so much? That's what I don't get.

Maybe, but not applicable here. This guy wrote awesome theme songs but was primarily known as an actor. He wins.

Basically, he could make a dumb thing cool.

I'm almost certain he was the bad guy. He could play a bad guy like nobody's business.

It should be a noble title, so you could be announced at parties as the 17th Dick of Wolf.

There were two of those guys, one from the black-white oppressive class and one from the white-black oppressed. And one was played by Frank Gorshin.

If I'm not opening a new account for Star Trek, I'm sure as hell not doing it for this. Although it does intrigue me. Reality shows are ripe for parody, and occasionally, one perfect parody is enough to kill the whole genre. That's my endgame here, I want reality TV destroyed.
