I finished Continuum. They stick the landing, so that's good. You can really taste the Canadian origin and that's good too. Great concept, strong message, decent execution. Recommended with the caveats that it juggles a lot and wanders a bit.

Apparently it still exists. I only found one online review, which says "argumentative staff, subpar food."

When I was really little my babysitter watched Another World, which was nightmarish at the time.

Neil Armstrong was from the cornfield part of Ohio and John Glenn was from the Appalachian part. My grandma from Kentucky hung maps of the moon in her garage. Always a good idea to know where things are, she said. She also made sure I knew how to read by age 5. Her accent was sometimes impenetrable, but whatever.

RIP. There used to be a restaurant in my hometown called Stefano's with a picture of him on the wall. I watched a lot of Days back in the late 90s, after some initial resistance.

It's not collaborating if they wrote it. The writers collaborated, sure, but she didn't. That's not "auteur theory" it's just identifying things for what they are. This line is simply not Beyonce's line, as alleged above.

Take it easy baby, make it last all night.

It has all the elements we like: vapid figureheads, focus-group songwriting, and corporate chain restaurants.

Well then. I stand corrected.

It is a departure, but so is the degree of economic upheaval we're currently seeing. Everyone who wasn't affected by that poverty was happy enough "normalizing" it, on both sides of the aisle. Sorry folks, new world and all, try community college. Real sorry.

In some places it really has gotten worse. It isn't about who to blame for that, it's about whether or not to recognize it, admit it, and attempt a solution. That's where Clinton screwed up.

Kindergarten Cop was also governor there; it doesn't seem to require much of a resume. I would venture that Trump knows at least as much as those two did. His technical qualifications are the least of our concerns.

I am the pusher robot. Shoving is the way. Must protect humans from the terrible secret of space.

True. He did a lot of awful things that affected a lot of people. You won't find any love for Reagan here. But "we" isn't about any particular group or individual. Let their side divide while ours brings people back together. That's how we come out on top of this.

The opposition needed a jolt and it looks like we got one. We survived 8 years of Reagan, so I have faith we can pull through 4 years of this.

Back to the Future Part 2… where's the outrage?

Fascist is as fascist does.

The connection with Trump seems to exist only in his supporters' minds, which means at some level they know and accept that he's evil.

In high school I got a congratulatory letter from John Glenn. Some years later I lost it, in the rush to clean out an apartment I was getting evicted from.

Words matter, headlines matter, concepts matter, children matter, truth matters. Now more than ever.
