Pahhhh! You can keep your fancy race cars... the real heros are the guys who take RV's up the hill before the race to spectate.

V.VV.VVVVVV.

@Rick Lyon: No, 2001 740is go for 8k with low miles. What people THINK they can get for them is a different matter.

Everyone complained about Steam before Steam was released.

@stoke: One of the cars? Or the Inquiry?

@$kaycog: Was hoping to see it on this list of surviving stations. Not only is it still standing, it does a LOT of business, and it central to any rail expansion that wants to cross the Rockies.

@Glenn Gregory: My girlfriend HATES driving. She loves her beige box cars. I LOVE driving. I cannot buy a car if it doesn't stir something in my soul or loins.

Every time I see a pic of a car like this, I have to wonder - How much interest do you think a spec-replica series using cars like this would generate?

I still want one of these... with an LS6... and a Tremac 6 speed... and Black Leather. And the brakes from a CL65AMG (Holy crap, saw one in person. How do you change those pads?!?!?!)

@DoctorNine: Occasionally I would really like a time machine to go back and be 25 in the 70's.

No. You can find e30's that will require just as much work as this one will shortly for MUCH less.

@Piloter: Don't be the farm on you not seeing it in your lifetime. Plasma torches, CNC Mills/Waterjets, Rapid Prototyping, and really spectacular computer diagnostic systems have all percolated down in the last 10ish years - I have very little doubt that there will be at least a niche demand for being able to do this

People are balking at the price. While it is high, and I'm talking eye-wateringly high, a. If you have to ask, no you cannot afford it, and b. People who buy these are going to drive them every day. I've seen a few older Alpina 7's with 100-150k miles on them. This if for the guy who doesn't lease a new 7 every 3

@theart: I think Murilee is going to buy your stripped out lambo for the 500$ claim fee. Call it a hunch...

@Tommy861: Sounds familiar. If they don't wrench on their own cars, classic exotic owners are universally terrible drivers and pretentious douchebags.

@geekymitch: Tippmann has a propane powered marker, but it's pretty much been universally ignored.

Or crack the first time you freeze it, because artists and Hennesy drinkers are RARELY engineers...

@blash: Because I like google to retain as little data as possible, because I still don't trust "The Cloud" with my most important data - ie, contacts - and I like seemless integration with Push email OTA to 98% of all corporate email systems.
