“Cosby’s very close longtime personal friends” are not the same thing as “the black community,” bruh.

His show was good

I was hoping that the show had ended . I wanted to like it more than I did.

There is shit we can do it’s just that the wealthy have no interest in doing it.

That’s literally a huge plot point in the movie.

I met Steven Van Zandt, and brought up this scene. I said it was the funniest thing I’ve ever seen in TV. He said “Ya, I think I remember that.” Never been so disappointed in my life.

“America, let me just tell you something - do not commit crimes with checks.”
Charles Barkley

I’ve said it before but my biggest issue with Daredevil was the same with Defenders - the endless fucking faceless ninjas who are all fought in dark hallways and warehouses. So fucking repetitive. And the fight scenes were way too long.

Now playing

It’s not really about making money. Artists usually don’t own the rights to their own recordings, the labels do. Swift is a big proponent of artists owning their own music, and since Scooter Braun won’t sell her music back to her, this is her way of reclaiming them. It’s amusingly petty, but also genuinely paradigm

I have a feeling we will hear this kid’s name in the news for years to come. He’ll make the news any time he kills/injures people going forward, as well as abuses any partner - in my opinion.

I hope everyone has prepared themselves for the emotional letdown of an acquittal because that’s what’s about to happen.

Turned back into a mannequin.

My personal theory is that - given that this was triggered by Fresher’s Week - a bunch of teenagers had heard about people being ‘spiked’ but didn’t understand that it wasn’t a literal spike, so spread the rumour, and then other people (suggestible, or just fame-hungry) claimed it had happened to them, at which point

Beat me to it. A bad actor at a night club is almost certainly going to just spike a drink rather than someone’s neck.

At least one juror, which is all it takes, may think self-defense was true enough in the moment. Much depends on whether they ask themselves a higher-level question, namely, whether he’d have had to defend himself if he hadn’t grabbed a gun and traveled to another state looking for trouble.

My first thought when hearing about this was: “This is some ‘needles in candybars’ urban legend stuff.

Here in the USA if you wanna kill someone and get off scot free you should do it in your car and claim you didn’t see them or the sun was in your eyes or they were in the lane or something. Officer Porkins will give you a hug, and pat on your back, and send you on your way with the body of your victim sticking out of

I think this would not jive well with the whole “innocent until proven guilty” thing we have here. Still, the end result (better protections for cyclists) should ABSOLUTELY be in place.

I don’t think it was ever controversial to believe he was killed but it was nice to have the ambiguity. Personally I preferred the idea the show didn’t wrap up so neatly and things just kept going on and on.

He never had the makings of a varsity athlete.
