This is an interesting point, and it would be great to see some research on it. Do crime rates drop as gentrification begins, and then rise (in other areas) as the process continues and lower income residents are forced to move to more affordable neighborhoods?

Okay, so - how does that work, and how sensitive is it, and, um, what then? (Yeah, I haven't read the entire article yet - it's sitting up there in its own tab, waiting for me....)

I've had a couple of piercings, and they weren't really a big deal - but I think it's the thought of cutting open a finger - a place so full of nerves, all I can think is "OW OW OW OW!"

I just read the first bit of the article over at The Verge, and the thought of having someone intentionally cut my finger open to insert a magnet makes me cringe.

"ritualistic vomiting"? Sounds like a holiday with the in-laws....

Melissa! I have to go!

Why does this always happen? It's like the paranormal whatsits *know* when to make themselves visible to maintain their mystique.

And what does that have to do with pupil dilation?

Okay, so I'm gonna be that guy, because it's Friday and I'm feeling snitchy: That's not what "interactive" means.

Fair enough - as someone who's been touch-typing since nineteen-mumblty-three, I assume that people wouldn't have that much trouble typing 30 or 40 characters without messing it up, but that's probably not true.

I'd like a password that is easy to remember. While uy%Js)83N may be secure, there's no way in hell that I'm going to retain it. All I want 4 Christmas is my 2 front hippopotamuses is significantly easier to remember without compromising security.

Okay, that's great & all, but what's with their obsolete password criteria? 16 character max?

Especially with what is obviously a non-native-speaker grasp of English grammar.

*never mind*

Yargh. I was just annoyingly reminded of one of my other big workplace annoyances: people bringing babies to work. And the ensuing high-pitched "ooooh, pretty" & other inanities.
