A map by a French guy? I don't think so....

How can there be a buzzword for 2013? There's not going to BE a 2013!

Thank you for this!!! It is going in my "how to deal with dumbasses" toolkit.

That was my thought. It should be pretty obvious that there is no evidence connecting between two things if one of them doesn't even exist. It's like trying to prove a connection between Jesus and winning at football.

"Professor Johnjoe McFadden from the School of Biomedical and Life Sciences at the University of Surrey proposes that the conscious mind consists of an electromagnetic field, a field that does not disintegrate when we die."

The anti-play aspect is probably the most damaging part of the whole thing. I know from experience that not being socialized as a kid can have a pretty negative effect on your success as an adult.

I'm totally with you on the genetics part of the equation, but from the sound of it, there are a number of other factors that are contributing to the speculation.

My first reaction on seeing the headline was, "PLEASE tell me this is the name of a new series on TLC!!!!!"

Cool. In that circumstance, I am totally with you on dumping the therapist. Glad you found someone who works well with you! :)

You left of:

Wait a minute. If she said outright, "I don't believe that", well then yeah, ditch her. But depending on tone, and assuming that you are quoting the exact question she asked, that sounds like a valid question if the therapist is looking for a clear understanding of the root of your discomfort with it. What possible

It would be effing awesome if someone could afford to run a superbowl ad that basically states what is written in the 2nd paragraph of this item.

That "myth" is a bit stupid. Yes, it's the virus that makes you sick. But being cold and wet affects how well your immune system functions, and since the virus is "everywhere", you're going to be less likely to fight off the infection. Argh.

Did he have a single bowel movement during that time? Also, how was his scurvy? HA!

Use your turn signals. PLEASE use your turn signals. I have no idea that you are trying to merge if you don't use your turn signal.

I'm with you. I typically zipper as far as is reasonable, and merge when I see an opportunity within a reasonable distance of the merge point if there's a good opportunity. I think the reason the zipper fails so often is that people in the target lane don't understand it and refuse to drive appropriately.

Incorrect. Using the "zipper method", (described fairly well in this thread [lifehacker.com]) improves efficiency/speed of traffic. Think of it this way: if you have a half mile of road ahead of the merge point, you can get twice as many cars in that space if people use both lanes. Traffic at the merge point is

You forgot to cough after "computer says no"... :)
