Thank you for this website! I noticed that they have centerpieces, too! And from there saw that there is a thriving secondary market for reselling slightly used wedding goods on Craig’s list. This actually might save me a few grand, no kidding.

I looked more into her and some of her books and have gone from, “Weird but whatevz” to “Oh my god, wtf is wrong with this couple?!”

Umm that speech kind of reads like the postmodern poem that weird guy in the back of AP Lit writes and reads publicly with such emotion and at the end, everyone stares in silence until the teacher goes, “Ummm okay then.”

So every time I see a story like this, I think, “Oh good, I’ll just donate to Planned Parenthood in [idiot]’s name! I don’t even need an email reminder!”

This story is crazy. And her behavior kind of creeps me out?

Congratulations!!! And this seems pretty typical. People often make things about them.

I am so happy to see a wedding post (never thought I’d say that). I Thee Dread has been so quiet lately, and I’ve so needed an anonymous place to vent my wedding-related frustrations.

Most of those people cannot even spell the word “fungible”— let alone define it.

It seems we may be heading towards another government shutdown because of this and other nonsense....sorry friends who are federal government employees.

I know...I think it’s kind of akin to “scientists” who believe that climate change still needs more research? I think they know it’s untrue, but it doesn’t personally benefit them or the people who are paying them to research this “super contentious” issue, so they ignore it. You’re right— I was being harsh. I would say more, though, that a conversation between two people who disagree on how much it should be ($15 vs $12) is a very different conversation. We all agree that something has to be done, but weighing a living wage for workers vs what is economically viable for small businesses (w

I love this image of most of the pie being in a glass case— very poetic (and so descriptive)!

There are no sound arguments against a minimum wage hike, and most people (even educated people, even people I was doing my MA with in economics/finance) cannot articulate why they are against a minimum wage hike without reverting to, “Well, it will just make people like super lazy!”

I think you should be a little more understanding towards your friend. She is clearly a time-traveler from 65 AD and is having trouble adjusting to this modern world.

Also this is the oldest trick in the book. You don’t agree with someone but can’t articulate why? Compare them to Hitler.

Standing in front of the courthouse was Mike Reynolds, an Army veteran who said that while gay-rights advocates might have won the battle, opponents would win the war. Mr. Reynolds, 36, had a patch on his leather vest for his service in Afghanistan, as well as a Confederate flag patch. His ball cap proclaimed his love

I just keep thinking of Pennsatucky.

Oh Jeb...

Has anyone actually read Scalia’s dissent to the gay marriage ruling? It is really entertaining. It is really sharp, super rude to his colleagues, sarcastic, and crazy— and makes you laugh aloud (but only because he lost).

Some people unfortunately never grow up!
