1. This seems over the top. I understand why some nurses would be offended by their comments, but it seemed like more of a teaching moment than a “bring the show down, no mercy” moment.

So obviously what Behar said was wrong and idiotic, but I'm kind of surprised at this level of backlash. The people on The View have said way worse about many other groups of people (like rape survivors, for example). Curious.
That is a good point. Had Joy Behar said something along the lines of, I think nurses are amazing people, and I greatly admire their dedication to caring for patients; but is giving a speech about it a legitimate talent?—I don’t think people would have been pissed off.
I totally agree. Joy had a stupid observation about “doctor’s” stethascopes, but it was a TERRIBLE talent. Her talent was, really, her ability to write and perform a speech, but it was obvious that she wanted bonus points about the substance of the speech, which isn’t really a “talent.” And, sure, it’s probably really…
THANK YOU. Exactly. Said better than I could.
So that was a real dick move and everyone should be mad at Joy. This woman obviously does great work and she should be celebrated for it
Talk about outrage police. I think people just want a reason to post pics of themselves.
