I do know that you value the right of Nazis to hold Nazi rallies and spread Nazi speech in a way that I do not. That’s kind of my whole point: to criticize holding that value. That value is bad. You should stop doing that.

I’ve repeatedly said I don’t live in the United States.

I’d hesitate to suggest asking churches to schedule extra services. I have a friend in ministry and their church just went back to having to do 3 services (the joint is poppin).

I’m a black woman and I’m with my sistren: I don’t do overflow rooms. If I’m gonna sit in an overflow room, I might as well be watching it at home, so nope. I go to church pretty rarely anyway - pretty much just on Easter and if I’m visiting my in-laws - and I’m not religious so I go for the experience (this is

The courts of ruled on this. Generally speaking, free speech doesn’t allow you to deprive other people of their rights—like their right to an education in a classroom not filled with shrieking people of various political persuasions.

Yeah, I distinctly recall a strong preference for non-sanctuary locations as a kid:

My wife does not like overflow either. However, she is white so I think this may be a female thing and not a black/white thing.

I’ve always loved the overflow room. As a kid, it provided a place for epic church tomfoolery to happen and provided enough distance from my mom. As an adult with kids, it allowed a space for my youngins to cry, be fed, changed, etc. without a side eye from folks who felt my child was a distraction.

When I was a kid, I used to love Easter, because that usually meant if we were “late,” as in on time, we’d have to sit in the basement. Worked for me, cause I hated going to church anyway, and there were things to do in the basement, like play with the Sunday School stuff, and take many, many trips to the water

Hate! Out loud and and with the stank face. Especially on the day Jesus C-walked out the cave. We’re Catholic and what you don’t want to do is be casket sharp, with have your knees on the bare floor, incense swirling, holy water splashed upside your head and your only ‘recovery’ area is a folding chair. That cushioned

Naturally, people don’t feel special when they have to go the “other” room. FOMO vibes for real. So I learned when you work a special event that it’s better to name the “overflow” room something else like the “Pastor Douglas” room or the “MLK Jr.” room.

It may shock you to learn this, but not everyone lives in the United States.

No, people defending Nazis are not taking my advice.

Which debate club won World War II?

That’s actually somewhat debatable, since even public Universities can deny some public access to facilities as those facilities are often explicitly for academic use—a good example is that a University can deny someone the use of their music hall if they aren’t affiliated with the school (and haven’t been asked to be

This is what blows my mind. Our grandfathers literally fought and killed nazis. Nearly the entire planet was united against them. I just don’t understand how they think this is cool or ok.

Fighting back against fascism is not an expression of fascism, it is the expected duty of every American. Our grandfathers and grandmothers fought a goddamn war about this. Maybe you’ve heard of it?

The dumbass calling Nazis “not the real threat” and labelling the parts of the left that are willing to point out the flaws inherent to neoliberalism and willing to point out that the mainstream press hires white racists in the name of diversity instead of covering teachers going on strike as “the elements that worry
