For what it’s worth, my grandmother’s father came from the same part of the world as their father (Israel/Palestine). I don’t think she has ever identified as anything but white, and her complexion is darker than either of these women (her mother was from Sicily).

Their father is Arab.

I understand where the term “blackface” comes from. But, you don’t think this is inappropriate? You don’t feel a white person dressing up and darkening their skin to be a race they are not is a tad inappropriate.
I do, I guess to each their own. It may not be traditional blackface, but it’s still inappropriate.
