I could see that if they were close to having the scores they could believe they got in on “intangibles” or “oh you must have really impressed them at the interview” or something like that. And aboiut being registered as an athelete: it’s really easy to believe there’s been an administrative mix-up since they aren’t

I considered it at the time - but there just isn’t the money in being a bottom-shelf liquor spokesperson that I thought there would be. 

By the third example it was just depressing.

I remember that too, although it might be regional.

I can no longer wear heels because of a back injury and it is bliss. And when people comment on my “comfortable shoes” I don’t mention the injury I just say “yeah, I just don’t see the point of blinding pain anymore.”
