I would actually watch this because I love Sara Gilbert and the character of Darlene. Laurie Metcalf and John Goodman are favorites, too.
One of the differences between Me and Madonna, who are contemporaries, is that I realize that I’m an old hag and she does not.
The original book(s) and the 1994 film both have the father (Bronson Alcott stand in) as mostly absent - and if you know anything about the Alcotts, that was for a reason.
Any cartoon that features the wonderful and acerbic Sarah Vowell is right in my wheelhouse.
*off to research which states still don’t have No Fault Divorce laws*
I also hated the recent PBS version. Beth, Jo and Meg looked so similar I often couldn’t tell who was who in a scene, Beth looked older than everyone else, and it seemed a pointless effort in view of the 1994 film, which is perfect in every way.
I’ve been worried about little MBB since Stranger Things exploded, as her parents seemed to be a tad exploitative, and the whole meme thing recently was beyond the pale.
No, I didn’t think you did, dear. I was referring to Giovanni, who you were also answering, who did say she was tacky.

Perhaps because it reminds her of Roscoe?
I believe that it’s 700+ pages of just the dates, times and numbers.
Sorry, but nothing could beat Sister Maura from St. Bridget’s for sheer horror. I suffered with her for 6th grade CCD, only to walk in the first day of 7th grade CCD to find out she was now terrorizing that grade.
IIRC, “Little Stranger” is also an old fashioned Britishism for a baby.
Is Kate Morton perhaps too light?
I freaked out with excitement that it was going to be a movie adaptation of Donna Tartt’s The Little Friend, only to realize it’s a quite different book.
She voted for Trump, and the new show certainly highlighted that. I used to be (actual) Facebook friends with her and her views are batshit insane, if not traditionally conservative.
Then it’s odd that in the new show, they portrayed her as extremely shallow and dumb! Poor Beck(ies)!
