Honest question: why are liberals so incredibly sensitive about any criticism of Islam? Even when pointing out a story like this, some of them react like you punched their mother. It's strange and I've never understood it.

The Quran also says that Muslim women can't marry non-Muslim men, so there is that to worry about. There was no way she could win here.

I'm always bemused when Westerners try to explain that conservative Islamic countries are misinterpreting their own religion.
