Exactly!!!!!!
Exactly!!!!!!
Which renders the departure completely irrelevant and stupid. And it takes the writers off the hook completely.
I'm not distracted. It's been lazy plotting and world-building all around me, and by essentially ignoring the "why" of the departure while simultaneously throwing a bunch of other supernatural mysteries and plot twists, the show is playing its (tiny) remaining audience for fools
Actually I feel the opposite way about the shows. The Leftovers kind of fakes being "serious" and "adult", but overdoes it so much it's almost comical.
Came in through the window, last night
The show HAD an audience and lost it. That's different from never catching on with the general public, which some quality art never does. The character development has actually been pretty thing. The best that can be said about the show is that the acting performances are very, very good. Even there, however,…
Yeah the first two seasons of Beach Front Bargain had some great mysteries!
Actually, the consensus is that hardly anyone watches the show. They know better. You don't
It's not just you. Most people gave up on the show a while back. I still can't believe how much people gobble up the pretentious fake artsiness that show puts out. It's a main reason the show has virtually no audience.
They're sleepin' with their clothes on
So explain how Kevin has been poisoned, drowned, buried, and shot point black in the chest and survived. Honestly, any "emotional truth" people are stupid enough to believe the show is giving them has been constantly subverted by the constant stream of supernatural/magic events that keep occurring, especially to…
Except we have seen more supernatural events since the Departure on the show, i.e., Kevin's deaths and resurrections. So for them to pull that reversal now would be kind of silly. Not that it isn't already silly since the 2nd season, but it would make it even worse.
Yeah? So tell me how he survived poisoning, being buried alive, and point blank bullet to the chest. I'll wait.
It's called bad writing and poor character development.
Actually, suicidal people are often self-centered, and many who later recover are very clear about this and admit to it. You don't seem to have any idea what you are talking about.
No, it's lazy storytelling. There's a lot of it in this show.
Snore.
Except she doesn't believe in the great flood.
Except everything this season is again building toward a supernatural Kevin experience and whatever stupid twist they telegraphed with "old Nora". So what you are saying really makes sense. The "character studies" haven't really changed much over the three seasons of the show. You're just being string along. Again.
No, it's call poor writing and character development. And the writers count on people like you to say "oh there's no way to know that!". Amazing.
