Gerrymandering. By popular vote, we overwhelmingly vote democrat, but there are so many districts engineered to remain 'safe' that the right just has to keep getting even more crazy right to keep those seats. That, and fear mongering. The right has figured out how to whip their base into a frenzy against all the evils

If you were a woman, you'd have a lot more common sense and a higher aptitude for logical thought. But don't beat yourself up too much over it... nobody's perfect!

this guy doesn't even think you're responsible enough to take your own birth control.

Well that was a terrible tactic. Making it a women's issue. It's like talking to a toddler - the more you tell them "no" the more likely they are to do it.

But it's not a specific drug - it's an entire class of drugs that ... wait for it... only apply to a certain class of people. They seem to have no problem providing coverage for performance enhancement drugs or vasectomies to men.

That's not the argument though. They're arguing that they have a legal right to discriminate against women in the provision of benefits because "religion." This came up in a more extreme case in 1986: EEOC v. Fremont Christian School. Freemont refused to provide any benefits to women because according to the bible,

I don't understand how they can rule in favor of Hobby Lobby here without undoing United States v. Lee. And actually, reading the magically already-updated wiki page, US v. Lee was used in this case, so that makes me feel a little better. That case set the precedent that if you want to engage in commerce in the US,

No but their distribution center is!

So if I took my flabby self in there in a sports bra, it'd be totally cool? Because no muscles in sight?

I kicked in $25 in your honor! I also don't like abortion but - and here's the CORRECT way to qualify that - I recognize that it is a legal and necessary medical procedure and every woman should have the right and the ability to make that very personal decision for herself.

Whatever. I have a friend who's white...

Baa baa CPAC, have you any fools?
Yes sir, yes sir, Palin and Cruz.
One for the racists and one for the lame
And one for the rednecks who live down the lane.
Baa baa CPAC, have you any fools?
Yes sir, yes sir, they're all tools.

Yes, you're right, and my mom's facility is actually both - I just didn't specify because I figured most people wouldn't get the distinction.

My mom actually runs an organization at a nursing home that provides rides/car service for residents. It's an expensive program - she's an RN and her staff are mostly nurses because you need medical professionals in case something happens. That would be my guess, sadly - cost.

My biannual cleanings are part of my warranty on the ring, so I don't pay for them. But yeah, if I had to, I'd just do it myself.

Right? I've been married almost a year and I still stare at it. Especially when I get it cleaned every 6 months and it's super extra sparkly.

So she should just wear flats! You can't see them under those giant dresses, and if someone noticed, it would just be like 'Look it's JLaw! And she's wearing flats like a normal person! How relatable!'

Is anyone else getting kind of tired of this? 'Oh look, it's JLaw! And she's falling, just like a normal person! How relatable!' Meh.

Bonus - mine is from the south, so there's still a novelty aspect to it. He enjoys shoveling snow.
