Best ending ever.

I went to public high school in MD in the late 90s-early aughts and the sex ed was reasonably comprehensive, but I didn't know what Plan B was until well into college and there were a lot of lies floating around about late term abortions (no,Fellowship of Christian Athletes, no one is pulling healthy 26-week fetuses

Blast it, me too. Probably why I'm just married. Also, do people still IM? I thought that died in the mid aughts, along with my youth and Paris Hilton's career.

Is this sufficient? I think I've used up all my really ragey GIFs recently.

Whatever, I'd take Jon Stewart over free healthcare and guaranteed bodily autonomy and... what? No, I'm not crying hysterically. That's just how I breathe thanks to all the chronic health conditions I can't afford to treat.

He's a good ol' boy from Midland, Texas - they don't wear scarves! And he literally didn't understand the different ways it could be looped/knotted to provide both style and warmth to help survive January in DC.

My Texan stepbrother came to visit one January. He didn't know how to tie a scarf - I had fun with him.

Ima let you finish, Sinha, but Clayton Williams has already said the most despicable thing about rape ever.

Our *ahem* full-grown puppy has chewed our wooden stairs, our antique wooden dining room table, 4 pairs of flip flops, assorted magazines, rolls of toilet paper, every indestructible dog toy on the market, and my husband's glasses. I made him wear the broken glasses as part of his nerd costume for halloween.

Well at least they're not trying to delude them about how un-glamorous a life as a stay-at-home baby-incubator who always acquiesces to her husband's every whim will be?

I don't understand why this is such an awful thing? My local nail salon charges $15 for a basic mani/pedi - obviously it's not an everyday thing (and prices in NY are probably higher, though I do live in a suburb outside of DC) but it's not a ridiculous amount to spend on a lunchtime meeting.

Well duh, that's why they've moved beyond just insulting women and gone straight to disenfranchising them...

Goddamnit. I've really tried to avoid getting on the JLaw bandwagon. Someone pass the tissues, I'm in for the long haul now...

Statement to be released later today by the GOP:

Yeah, unfortunately Medicaid is entirely state by state - most states (32 I think?) don't even accept psychologists as Medicaid providers which is really unfortunate. And the fact that most republican governors voted against the Medicaid expansion means there are still several million with no affordable access to

So I work for an organization that has been integrally involved in the push for parity for the past 17 years or so, and this is pretty awesome. We were actually just talking yesterday about the fact that we didn't think this announcement would come before the end of the year.

Fun story, I did get into an argument with my [racist, classist, Muslim-hating, Obama-should-go-back-to-Kenya] grandmother about the Redskins name. After gently trying to explain to her for several minutes why it's not okay to use a racial slur as a team name, I finally ended with: "Should we just re-name the Ravens
