It really is well done.
It really is well done.
I am so damn happy that the original pieces of work are available and with an explanation of the context that they were made in. Disney, are you listening? I'll gladly pay for an edition of Song of the South, an excellent piece of work, with the in-context discussion of how this came out of the Uncle Remus stories…
But the clear winner has to go to the #chidhoodruined people who yes, actually believe a few sentences absolutely are going to destroy their enjoyment of an old cartoon where a cat tries to catch a mouse.
I bet they had a lot of people spending a lot of time crafting that statement and I think what they came up with is really great.
Yeah, and that statement is very well-worded too, imo.
Yeah, I thought this was a good solution. I love old cartoons and want to be able to watch them, but I also don't think it's ok to just show them without acknowledging that some of them are really fucked up. I don't get the problem with this.
Can this happen to Dumbo too?
People's childhoods were ruined by warning about racism...
It really is the best way to handle it. To erase it and present a sanitized version of the past would be false.
This is a good idea.
Yeah, I agree. Her old face had more animation and movement in it before. The lips, to be fair, were the result of old plastic surgery and so "fixing" them might actually be bringing her back to what they were before (except they still look kind of plastic).
Oh great. Golf clap. THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH HER ORIGINAL FACE!
This interlaces nicely with Katy Manning popping in to say hi on set. She was the Doctor's companion from 1971-1973, when Capaldi was 13-15 years old. I'm sticking with the idea he likely had a crush on her. And better to meet your crush than becoming an officer in the fan club?
Mrs. O and I love Graham Norton. We discovered him _because_ of DOCTOR WHO. It came on BBC America right after the Doctor and we would get the first minute or two on our DVR. We liked it so much, we started recording it as well. I really like the format: typically, _all_ the guests come out at once at the beginning,…
Hands down best Doctor since Tom Baker. There I said it (ducks).
I'm still waiting for him to show up on Craig Ferguson again. How the hell has Craig not booked him by now? It's been almost two months...
Poor guy. We've all had those fandom moments though.
Hawaiian grass skirts?
He also lied about being awarded World War II medals for valor and supposedly discovered the mythical Yamashita's gold (war loot named after the occupying Japanese General).
there are a sufficient number of episodes for me to binge watch now. I only seem to watch a few shows as they air. I've only seen the first three episodes of POI and this sounds worth catching up.
