It has seat belts and space for crumple zones, only the idea of side seating appears to be a major issue. 

Personally I think it looks more like an Austin than a Triumph.

I’m guessing structural safety and airbags are why it doesn’t have sliding doors.  

I’ll take this as a cool design exercise. Looks great, but crumple zones, side air bags, and seat belts are going to hamper this design. I like the idea, so long as I wont turn in to street meat on a road trip.
