The lack of Silence is a pox on the awards.

Dylan was kind of the Faulkner to Cohen's Hemingway. They both could have won the award, but one of them had to first.

That's fair. Though I think his newer albums are more musically interesting, his older albums probably sound better. If that makes sense. What I was referring to more were his songs lyrically, since I don't feel qualified to dissect the music. That being said, even though I know Dylan criticized it, I never have

It's a wonder anyone survived the 80s.

It's… amusing?

Time Out of Mind is probably the best album ever made, at least in my opinion. And everything since then has been almost as excellent, (except the Christmas album, which I enjoy… against my better judgement). The sixties records were great, but the nostalgia squad should move on, and younger audiences should branch

"The era that arguably won Dylan the prize"? Maybe, but his later work is just as good, and more mature.

I saw him last year. He said one thing to the audience, right before intermission. Great show!

When You Wake Up Feeling Dead?

Tom = Roy

Upchuck's one redeeming moment.

Also: KWIIIIIIIIIIHN!

I always felt bad for Stacy. All the poor girl wanted to do was please those fashion club snobs. Low self-esteem is no joke. Except in "Esteemsters."

I'm sure there's some licensing snafu that keeps that from happening.

I caught The Double Life of Veronique on Hulu last year and got hooked on Kieslowski. Haven't seen the whole Dekalog series yet, but eagerly awaiting the Criterion release.

To quote Travis Bickle: "I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention. I believe that someone should become a person like other people." He didn't listen to his own advice, then look what happened.

It looked like Shutter Island

They might mock Leno, but only because his legacy will lend itself to that fate.

I saw him twice in concert last year, three days apart. Still had different arrangements.
I think his rendition of Blowin' in the Wind was better than it was on Freewheelin'. If you want to hear the songs like they are on the album, listen to the album. More artists need to experiment.

Time Out of Mind is a perfect album. Tell Tale Signs is a perfect compilation. Dreamin' of You is a perfect song.
