True, although I am still confused by that decision.

First of all, this is not telling somebody how to live - this is offering and explaining options, and trying to convince somebody. There is no force involved. Second, I guess it could get annoying, but no more than that.

I am not going to force anybody to do anything. But I am also not going to shut up and stop voicing my opinion.

The system I am suggesting does not rely on the motor cortex. It reads other patterns in your brain, and can go off of the facial muscles.

Hmm... Well, like I said - it doesn't have to be an implant. And from what I understand he does want to communicate better - so he can complete his life's work and try to prove where the mass/information in black holes goes to.

Historically there have been far fewer people living in the world. And they weren't living in marginal places where the climate shift would destroy their way of life.

That's the thing - he is not comfortable. He can barely communicate these days because the disease has progressed this far. He is virtually locked in that body. He is making a mistake - when somebody makes a mistake you convince him that he can do something different, better.

Somebody needs to finally convince Hawking to try a system like this. He has been using that controller since the 80's, I think - and his disease has progressed enough that it now does virtually nothing. With a couple of hours/days of practice he could have so much more control and communication back that it's

Awesome analogy!

... What? I am confused. You are saying that letting tens and hundreds of millions starve is better because some of the earlier attempts to reduce climate change have not worked out too well?

For you the temperature difference may be mild (although you may be introduced to tornadoes and such). However, hundreds of millions of people on the planet live in more marginal places. Tens of millions are already starving due to drought in various areas on the planet. More severe climate change will cause much

I wish it was "SCIENCE!" - unfortunately all too many will wait for "GOD!". :-(

I don't think it was supposed to answer any questions for anyone besides Shatner. There are two reasons:

I disagree - you can often look beyond the execution to the idea. Think about it this way - the execution (special effects, locations, sometimes acting) is a wrapping to an idea. A book is in many ways a movie that has horrible special effects no locations and often bad acting. And yet books are still awesome.

True - but those were more abstract questions based on non-Christian religions. This is the only one I remember that had specifically put Christianity on a pedestal. Just look at the last scene and how it was shot.

I don't watch that show, but I did notice that the Alcatraz pilot has improved between San Diego ComicCon and when it aired. That obviously wasn't enough, but there were changes.

No, it's a great movie! The idea is awesome. The execution may be only so-so, but the underlying idea IMHO more than makes up for it. :-)

Bah, what are you talking about? Star Trek 5 was awesome! You just have to take it for what it actually was - Kirk vs. God (with some help from Spock in a Klingon warbird). And Kirk wins! Obviously!

All of these look really bad. They may get better by the time things air, but there is only so much you can do with this awful alien show.

Yet another great episode where I didn't know what was going on within 5 minutes of the show. Probably again because the explanation was so silly, but still - VERY awesome and hilarious!
