I’ve never understood the allure of “session” brews. “So let me get this straight: you either want to get less of a buzz or you want to have to drink more for the same buzz so that you get fatter? Takes all kinds, I guess.”

I assume you’re referring to Nas but I can’t figure who else... unless you’re a huge fan of pre-Lord Willin’ Clipse.
Happy as hell to see the Little Simz love. Picked up “A Curious Tale Of Trials + Persons” and absolutely fell in love.
Am I the only one here that was briefly excited for a Jungle Cruise movie because I thought that maybe, against all odds, it will be a movie based on the “Weird Al” song, Skipper Dan?
While I wholeheartedly agree with this statement, I would still take Borland over Lewis any day as the former released that Big Dumb Face record which, while not a great album, I found amusing enough. (I also care for Mr. Bungle a great deal.) Lewis has never done anything I’ve liked.
Thank you Cecil Otter and Swiss Andy.
As much as I dislike Zack Synder’s films in overall, I’ve got to admit, I really liked his Dawn of the Dead remake. Yes, it didn’t have any of the social commentary of Romero’s original, but it was so much fun that I didn’t really give a shit.
At what age did you start giving the 10 year old more flexibility around bedtime? Mine are 3 and 5 so I’ve got a bit of time but I’m always looking for input as to what works for others when it comes to parenting.
No, I actually, I did see Aronofsky mentioned and then the note that “...she goes out of her way to clarify [he] wasn’t the target...” My problem is that the article implies a parallel between Aronofsky and the type of people to which Lawrence refers. If it’s made clear in the interview that he’s not the guy, there’s…
Ok, this salacious bullshit pissed me off as you’ve taken this completely out of context.
I’ve got my tix to see her at the Bluebird in Denver on May 2nd: that club is only 550 capacity so I can still hang on to the club shows for a bit but yeah, I’m really expecting her to break in the next year. As long as it elevates the visibility of the DTR crew, I’m fine with it.
Hands down, Frank Sinatra’s “In the Wee Small Hours.” Recorded as his marriage to Ava Gardner was falling apart, the pain in his voice is something that you rarely hear in the massive hit Sinatra singles that are normally played and well known. On top of that, the orchestration is perfectly understated. The first time…
I actually liked Maron’s bitter asshole stuff a lot as well (I grew up on it) but yes, his recent material (say “This Has to Be Funny” and forward) has been a significant step up.
Here’s the deal: while this is awesome in theory, the execution of this concept was sub-par. I think my biggest problem with the performance last night had to do with the music mix that was put together. The peaks and valleys didn’t work at all and much of the energy was lost in the transitions. Probably the biggest…
Look, there a plenty of reasons to dislike and/or shame Kim Kardashian. This is not one of them.
But really, related to her film career, is Michelle Rodriguez ever not in “badass woman blows shit up” mood?
In general I agree but because I love these specials, counterpoint:
I haven’t heard this album yet but in the reviews I’ve been reading for it I’ve seen a lot of reviewers slagging on The 20/20 Experience albums. I get it with part 2 (it was OK), but Part 1 was solid all the way through (and, if I remember correctly, well received at the time; I’m too lazy to look it up). Songs were…
You can never go wrong with more Sam Jay (even if it’s only 15-minutes)! I remember hearing her first Put Your hands Together set a few years ago and I absolutely fell in love; if she weren’t a lesbian... she’d still be too cool to have anything to do with me. Seriously, if you haven’t, check out her CC half hour from…
I’m gonna jump in here because that’s off their third album; so which one didn’t you like?
