Always enjoy this show but I was not feeling an “A” on this one. B/B+ imo. Some good bits for sure but the big laughs were a bit thin on the ground and the alternate timeline structure was kind of irritating imo. Either way...glad it’s back. Gratuitous political aside: it definitely feels odd that trump was not

I’m in.

yep. Same here. It’s annoying alright. There’s no way this switch over does not hurt the readership and commentating here.

Is it Jon Stewart’s fault that Mike Huckabee thinks he’s a comedian? Maybe one too many appearances on the daily show back in the day encouraged Huckabee’s painfully bad “jokes” on twitter?

something like he propositioned a 16 year old and when she told him her age he said “even better!”

There are certain similarities w the wire in terms of oppressive/gritty urban textures and environments but Mr. Robot takes things to a much more surreal lynch/cronenberg/kubrick place IMO. The Wire was always much more subtle/realistic/objective/journalistic and visually subdued than Mr. Robot.

I would argue that Mr. Robot is about mental illness/addiction/etc more than anything else.

agreed. Many/Most sets have no ceilings so they can rig lights easier.I think Mr. Robot uses a lot of practical locations as well tho. So no need to build any ceilings there.

Ceilings. The images of this show feature more ceilings than usual. You can come up with all sorts of metaphorical meanings (oppressive society, mental illness, etc). So many great shots.

Yep. I’m gonna enjoy this.

Man this new commenting + notification system is a mess. Anyway: I’m on board for The Deuce, pilot had a great cast, and lots to work with thematically. Definitely looking forward to it. Most of the rest looks optional at best. Netflix just seems to be home of mediocrity now.

holy crap. i just googled him...crazy stuff indeed.

She seems a bit unstable tbh. Seems like a strange way to trash the director who made her famous, especially since the grievance (if you can even call it that) is debatable at best. Directors edit music, actor’s performances....everything. That’s just the way it is. Some actors put in months on a movie and end up

I’m a bit torn. This finale was the most blatant set up for another season as I’ve ever seen. I can easily imagine another season of Coop BEING Coop and all the weird journeys that might transpire. Remember those scenes in NYC? With the Box? what happened there? The canvas is wide open and much more expansive than

Simply a test to see if attempting to comment in this disorienting new environment works....

LS and HK….a comedy team for the ages.
and Arthur? forgettaboutit.

the songwriting on the new album did not knock me out….but live SG is as good (or better in some cases) than ever.

check out the free streaming sxsw concert on itunes….damn good. as ragged and heavy as ever.

not to beat a dead horse but she kind of drove him to go over there in the first place with all that psycho role playing. imo. my tolerance for annoying theater stuff is very low…but i still think she kind of drove him away…and then compounded the error.

grunge/90s jokes aside soundgarden has been sounding awesome live recently. great heavy psychedelic guitar rock.
