no way. her craziness is so disproportionate to his. he is in "annoying" territory (as are many who start to have a slight taste of professional success, "new friends", etc) and she is in "crazy bitch" territory and seems to be purposely trying to destroy her own life and make all those around her miserable.

the anti semitic bear immediately reminded me of yucko the clown from howard stern. that was a great touch.

jeremy irons still owns all twins movies….

but perhaps true….or to be more accurate they took tammy's characteristics and sort of split them up among the cast of Girls.

zing!
man…tina with her hilarious butt fixation and louise with her bunny ears are so much cooler than tammy or the "girls" crew.

Is it just me or is Tammy (the bat mitzvah girl on tonight's ep of bob's burgers) a left over character from "Girls"?

michael pitt will be playing mason verger. somehow the book Hannibal never says he ever actually kills anyone…and yet he is so completely repellant in every way that he makes the obvious murderers in the story seem downright appealing by comparison! either way…i'm curious to see what pitt + the writers have in

i see your point but i found swinton perfect in grand budapest. her performance plus some absolutely masterful makeup sealed the deal.

i agree…and i also preferred darjeeling to grand budapest for the reasons you describe. the humanity of the characters (including all of their copious issues) seemed very real amidst all the highly controlled elements.

i may have to agree with you as this being one of the weaker anderson films. however my problems lay not with the "looseness" since as usual every composition and panning move was flawless and obviously crafted to the 9th degree. my issue was that there was so much "business" going on i lost touch with the humanity

i felt he definitely did his thing to the max and executed flawlessly with spectacular craftsmanship….however i found the central character(s) a bit sketchy and that pulled me out of it.

agree. when i was sitting there wondering why i was not fully engaged it was simply that the main characters were not as compelling/human/relatable/sympathetic/etc as (for example) steve zissou. by the end it felt like a bit "too much going on" and too many signature camera moves for their own sake. still worth

one of my favorite altman films to be sure.
the atmosphere of stoned, confused, 70s existential dread is just pervasive and overwhelming. masterpiece.

valid perspective.
definitely a film artist to follow.

he's definitely a pretty brilliant guy but his career seems to have gone oddly off track. i thought felicia's journey was actually really strong work…bob hoskins was great.

man Egoyan was going to be the guy to rival cronenberg as best canadian filmmaker but he seems to have lost his way. he's done some really interesting work over the years but his career never fully took hold. memphis 3 seems like a bit of a tired topic to make a movie out of at this point but also seems to overlap

Gotcha…the confusion of the typed word!
Be well!

all i remember is him sticking artie's hand into that boiling tomato sauce….ouch!

spectacular piece about a unique piece of art.
here's to hoping tom can get the best show into a financially supportable form in 2014….

truth. that clipped compressed tone with the harmonies is absolutely unmistakable. he also used a coin for a pick which gave a certain bite to the attack.
