@avclub-ef331994b3a2a109cb06ef07f4e51ec3:disqus sorry…i meant that although it IS the same character it did not make sense that chilton, as he is presented in silence of the lambs is the same guy who is so grotesquely slaughtered (and yet miraculously not quite killed) in the tv show.

i donno…he does these certain specific mannerism that scream "silence of the lambs chilton" to me.  slightly toned down perhaps…but definitely reminds me of him a lot.

technically you are right…but the completely disemboweled chilton of the show just is not the same character from silence of the lambs.

i will have to go back and see if any of my other favorite musicians have been on his show…..

honestly i did not really mean to characterize reznor as "the reason"….more a matter of clashing goals/styles.  when i think of reznor in his latest incarnations i think of minimalism….and belew is more of a maximalist.

sadly few if any have bothered to listen to the jimmy chamberlin complex….fewer than gish and siamese dream to be sure….
it's a good bet the OD death of the SP keyboardist had something to do with it.

belew played too much stuff….20 notes for every one of reznors.  end of story.

another enjoyable ep to be sure although the end felt a little abrupt.
sidenote: it continues to be interesting how the show use touches from the books/movies in a transformed way.
phrases such as "avid fan" can be traced back to the books but used in another context.
i also found it interesting how the actor who plays

3 pages of personable mckean.
flawless.

it was pretty amusing as was the general joking around.
however i would add as an aside the most interesting and revealing interview homme has done (that i've heard) was with jay mohr on his podcast mohr stories.  many probing questions re the constantly changing band lineup etc.

it seems to me that if the creators of the show have to be talked into doing another season after they have said no many times the results may not be the best.
regardless even middling eps of eastbound are going to have a crude chuckle in there so it'll be worth watching.

that was a pretty rockin little show!

i definitely remembered the ep of "curb" on this very subject…..

do you really like the halloween makeup?

that freakin 12 string guitar slide hook is so good!
also the chorus to "if i had a tail" is simply undeniable.
great dark video as well:

they were astoundingly on.  really killer show.

makes sense to me…still my personal favorite tv writing ever.  funny, dramatic, cinematic in the best possible way, deeply connected to character/actor, realistic in an appropriately heightened way, etc.

they got that one right.

i did not see that coming….holy crow.
shows once again that one of the primary weapons of this show is the ability to kill anyone at any time.  brutal stuff.

that explains the red dress and then some.
