i fear you are correct.
missing are the cutting edge production/mixing and anthemic hooky choruses.
still has the bowie vibe…but it is not firing on all cylinders.

(juuuust kidding)
that pigeon head bob never gets old…twiddle those knobs mr laptop!
agreed about american pastoral. a mind altering novel that slowly and subtly gathers power as it goes along. it sneaks up on the reader and by the end it is devastating.
i wasn't necessarily thinking he would hate it…just that he might find it funny.
april and ann singing cindy lauper in unison = incredibly cute.
all i can say is i've love to see what Bergman would have to say if he knew he was being compared to The Incredible Burt Wonderstone.
unless you are stephen freakin king. both his word per hour rate mixed with his pay per book rate are astounding. guy writes books faster than people read books.
due to this fire article i have now integrated your ingenious phrase "back door pilot" into my lexicon.
thank you.
how have i missed this latest silly trend?
do the faux native american girls date the old time-y handlebar mustache guys?
it was VERY disheartening that this very appealing friendly woman had to experience such a degrading and potentially traumatizing scenario just to let this alcoholic mental case work out his issues with his ex (and his life in general). quite a convincing chain of events tho and skillfully portrayed.
blech…i was just…
it was grueling to watch her hurting herself like that…that strange compulsive look on her face was quite convincing as she dug in there more and more ferociously. at the same time as it was viscerally disgusting it was also quite believable…it seemed like something somebody with just the right kind of mental…
That was some sopranos level grimness. If not in literal content (ie murder) certainly in mood.
eesh. i actually had to look away as you would in a particularly graphic horror movie.
those damn cicadas are driving me mad!
inconceivable.
that is all.
agree…by far the grimmest ep of the show…and perhaps it's most convincing.
but DAMN that was grim.
dear kevin smith,
he is the best…or for the purposes of this piece the "best". the thing that made him so special was obviously not the purity of his technique which could vary wildly. what made (and still makes to some degree) plant a unique vocalist is his deft phrasing and dynamics. he could "flow" rhythmically/dynamically like…
i'm sure you're right…however being a loser just does not inspire hate the way that little chatterbox does. so he can mope around all day but it is not so very grating.
true…but i would not really call what he does singing….i remember hearing him try to harmonize on whole lotta love on some live tapes…more like a door mouse trying to shout faintly in the background. @Ben Folds Fan
