agreed…surprised Tom could keep the mojo going just a day or two after taping the previous ep.  worster and gary kept things humming.  ploptron 5000 forever.  there is nothing like worster making horribly gross or just goofy sexual references and freaking out tom as a result.  i think he mentioned "groin transplant"?

billy joel is sitting in on keytar.

holy crap…that part of the best show when Tom is singing along to the Bee Gees at length and then Gary the Squirrel takes over half way through.  so good.
also agree w the Mike White/Marc Maron sentiments…that was a pretty deep and disturbing piece of work.

indeed.  Ron is a great character but nobody trumps artie in my book…those heartfelt interactions between him and larry are "manly", comedic and often highly emotional as well.  artie forever!

i think you may have thought about this more than the writers on the show.  i suspect that the specific backstory on this plot thread was never fully fleshed out and they just left it at "his brother's in trouble with some dangerous folks…and they kill him" and now that he's dead that's the last we'll hear of it.

agree.  i loved the "these guys are legit" look…the guy from the raw as *(&^ black keys watching a couple of cute autotuned actors sing a light country ballad.  it was pretty funny.

totally…when jay met the nanny for the first time he should have literally known manny would be writing her romantic poetry before the week was out…

manny knows what's up.
damn.

I can definitely endorse "going clear" a truly bizarre saga and impeccably researched.
we all know scientology is some crazy shit…but this book really lays it all out.

Artie: perhaps the finest creation in the history of the sitcom.

there will now be TWO stone temple pilot bands…one with the original singer and all new band…and one with the original band and a new singer. saw weiland on stern and it seems between the substance and mental issues it could easily overwhelm any serious touring schedule.

the people demand the douchebag!
seriously tho i did not realize that stp was analogous in make up to van halen in that you could ditch the frontman and retain the band.

i don't get it…they hired seth macfarlane to host…and he did and it was just as you would expect.  musical numbers, some "offensive" jokes about celebs, etc.  par for the course.

how does a rhythm section fire the lead singer?
are they even a band any more?
I would think the "brand" stp was inextricably linked to Weiland.

definitely liking the production on this album…the way the lush delicate reverbed/delayed vocal sounds blend with the dry laptop samples is very punchy and clear, pops right out of the speakers.  haunting and modern.  Default is my favorite songwriting so far.

i think i have confused almost all the overlapping casting to some degree between tiny furniture and girls…..it seemed like jessa could pretty much never work and yet could travel freely whenever and wherever but i have confused it with the scene in tiny furniture where her character (name?) arrives magically and

i was fooled alright…..between the accent and the facial hair…dead ringers.

huh…Belew (great guitar in king crimson and david bowie) and Avery (all the best jane's addiction riffs)…two welcome names.
i would like to hear more.

yes.  no doubt about it.  he was great.

deakins is a visionary artist for sure.  no country looked simply incredible, and skyfall was no slouch either, definitely the classiest looking bond film ever.
that said i have to give it up to the tech folks on life of pi…they managed to integrate extremely detailed cgi with live action in a very seamless and
