ok…i feel that F is slightly harsh…but i have to agree this was a pretty poor film.
it just made it worse to see bill murray and shwarzman in there…i kept thinking "man wes anderson has freakin LOST it….oh, wait this is not a (really lack luster) wes anderson movie."

so the starlet suddenly gets it in her head she wants to be johnny cash?  the plot monster has struck again….still a pretty enjoyable soap-y romp tho.
side note: that constant live autotune is starting to really grate on my nerves.

that might make somebody a little peeved…but not to the point of making Melancholia AND Antichrist.

lars why you such a gloomy gus?

brutally funny/accurate words from gilliam (and kubrick).
If only Gilliam was as good at consistently making movies as he is in that interview…totally nailed it.

the super bowl just blew a fuse.  literally…half the power just went out in the stadium.  funny.

wading my way through this.  not sure what to think yet.
sonically a bit muddy/quiet compared to your average modern recording.  From what i have read i am guessing no digital brick wall limiting during mastering (or any digital recording/processing at all for that matter) resulting in a "quieter" (some might say

what about After Hours?  he was incredible in that.

Holy crap these people are horrible…and yet I can't look away.
brutal stuff and damn well done….this show has exceeded my expectations.

this movie looks like crap but have to say stallone is looking robust for 66 years old!    I'll give him credit for that.

agree…the early sandler bits were handled perfectly…the last 3rd was a goofy slog.

…and well crafted/edited.

dear. god. no.

agree… it was catchy and light on it's feet until the leaden rap section.

condensed article: Kareem sez re Donald Glover on HBO's Girls :“a black dildo would have sufficed and cost less.”
pithy AV club…keep it pithy.

somebody call Rick Rubin STAT!

true….that was genuinely sad when the mortician (at this point grey colored) burning himself alive while crying.  tough stuff.

i agree….that was by far the creepiest scene in the film….i had almost forgotten it.  as i recall she had only a spine snapping up and down on the metal autopsy table.  urg.

before the internet discovering weird movies was a much more cool thing…like some miracle from the gods of cable or some bootlegger or like max ren discovering the videodrome transmission.  now everything is just a netflix/torrent/amazon order away…which is great but lacks mystery and excitement.
re Day of the Dead: i

insanely catchy song….amusing video.  mould: rockin hooks.
