i think the cinematography on Girls also has a sorta 70s tint/low contrast compared to shows like House which makes it appear even dimmer/vintage-y.
better yet danny glover.
that was the darkest episode of tv i have ever seen.
i don't mean thematically…i mean it was incredibly underlit….going for some gordon willis style or something.
for a jarring moment i didn't realize it was Buscemi in drag thought it was just an insanely unattractive woman. creepy and hilarious.
it's a valid point. every film maker should follow what motivates em to do their best work in their own style and anything is fair play in art….i guess i have just become a bit burned out on QT's cartoonish approach. It feels trivial (and trivializing of his subject matter) and childish to me, which seems all the…
interesting points…not sure i can address them all but at least some…
I can only give so many points for "balls" if (in my own reaction only) the film in question seems silly and ultimately trivial. I cannot account for what a general audience finds worth watching and discussing…and i'm sure my taste does not really…
similarly to inglorious basterds the violence in django is cartoonish and trivializing. All the slo mo, ham handed use of pop music, over the top caricature, etc makes every subject he addresses silly and laughable. He pulls it off with enthusiasm and style…but it's silly stuff.
tarantino, for all his skill with the…
that was really quite interesting. good stuff.
Rosario Dawson: hypnotherapy…riiiight. they kind that only works on dudes i suspect….and works very well.
oh yes…i will read this article.
yep.

re good wife:
goodbye to nick….hopefully your character will arc right the f outta this otherwise clever and enjoyable show for good….
kanye: bad at music and annoying in general.
a terrible singer and mediocre rapper with middling flow at best. at least in my case the best mcs are decidedly clever and have biting wit and humor paired with technical skill….kanye is painfully humorless and his verbal dexterity/rhythmic skills are strictly average.…
imo it was not ultra clever, and was obviously something SLJ had thought about and rehearsed in advance…but the exchange was still delightfully awkward and humorous.
all else aside the footage of jackson trying to get the young white interviewer to say the n word was extremely funny.

still the best.
the screaming visage of "the final girl" will haunt me to my grave……
(with honorable mention to the meat hook hangee)
traumatizing all around.
