true…that woman sang really nice.

i agree sadly….she is probably the most attractive woman on TV and an awesome player…but damn if that singing is not terrible.

agree with the implausibility of the nazir attack in the tailor shop.  on a visceral level it just seemed out of place.  gotta keep that plot moving….
also trying to buy the daughter subplot…but not really doing so. her acting is quite good tho.

great interview….many interesting stories.  nashville and shortcuts are two of my favorite films and she shines in both.  cool to hear the background.

@avclub-4e7bc172ddd41cd4d4cb81eec370f5b1:disqus well in a way all distinctive artists reuse certain things, it is just a matter of how.  the thing with anderson is that he is easier to make fun of (imo) because his work can feel more lightweight than someone like kubrick so his stylistic "ticks" can feel mannered and

i guess…i guess my standards are too high but i think that writing is the real strength behind any quality tv show (deadwood, sopranos, the wire, etc) and i find the writing in this show to be hollow and fake, about 30% less than it needs to be to make me believe in the characters and take a real interest in what

jeez….somebody can't take a little gentle ribbing.
either way…i like all his films and have seen all of them…i just think he has such distinctive mannerisms in his directorial choices it's hard not to poke a bit of fun.  im not literally saying there are 60s pop songs in every film…only that every time i see his films
