And rest assured, once they figure out how to track actual ownership, the "one time payment" will not continue to the next owner.

Dear BMW, I have opted to decline your subscription offer and buy a Mazda instead.

I think there is only one acceptable scenario: If the subscription is for something that is getting regularly updated and improved (autonomous driving functionality, new infotainment features etc.) then I understand how a subscription would pay for the engineering team that is constantly finding ways to improve your

My 2022 X5 xDrive45e has the Drive Recorder, Driving Assistant Plus with Stop & Go, and Parking Assistant Professional packages. It’s irritating to know that if I bought another one, I’d have to pay monthly or yearly for these, rather than the once.

it’s the fact that a credit exists for EV SUVs at all that incentivizes inefficiency. the credit for smaller vehicles incentivizes lower-priced EVs, without subsidizing luxury versions.

Agreed. Lighter, more efficient vehicles should get tax breaks, and heavier vehicles that consume more energy should be taxed higher.

The weight is the most ridiculous rule ever.  It incentives inefficiency.  Give me a fucking break.

Constantly living in fear sounds like a blast.

I just sneezed, does that mean it’s a pandemic?

I’ve seen like 13 films in theatres this year without a facemask on... I don’t think it classifies as a “pandemic” if there aren’t any government measures and mandates in place anymore. You living cautiously AND (more importantly) the existence of COVID-19 does not make it a pandemic.

I mean, I've seen it three times in theaters and I've never had covid. Yes, I do get tested

More like a thumbs up, thumbs down, thumbs up, thumbs down, thumbs on the ground.

Missed headline opportunity: “Arizona Man Gives New Mercedes Thumbs-Down”

Wait, he can’t pee because he lost the tip of his thumb? Was he using it as a plug or something?

In conjunction with something that isn’t FWD.

Also people in US seem to use fuckton of money on large expensive vehicles on the assumption that they are safe. And then skimp on 500€ set of winter tyres that improve all the safety related safety aspects on winter driving hugely.

Absolutely this. Ranks right up there with “I don’t need snow tires, I have AWD”. Having driven rear, front, all, and four wheel drive vehicles, I can say that snow tires benefit all of them. Even big 4x4 trucks.

NO!

When the tow truck driver asked where and if they should pick you up, did you say “Plzen thank you”?

That FWD is any good in the snow. No thanks. I like not losing my steering every time I break traction. AWD > RWD > WALKING > FWD
