No one said anything about finished product, whether it’s finished or not is irrelevant. It’s still a product in the eyes of the market, the people that buy them and the developer.

I remember as a kid everytime I bought a game for the PC I crossed my fingers it would work. If it didn’t, you could send a mail and maybe (a big maybe) get a floppy sent to you with a patch. It was definitely not better then.
