I always thought the CTS lineup’s styling was a miss, but a close one on the first swing and it got just a little bit wilder with each generation. The last generation, however, actually got a little meat and made some good impressions with me, and then of course GM said that was enough of that.

I know I’ve said this before but it bears repeating: Subaru Forester. By the time Subie was cranking out the second generation the head gasket thing was more or less fixed so any you find from 2002 or newer should be fine.

By the time this unit was produced the EJ25 was more or less sorted, and the turbo models never had the bugbear head gaskets like mine did. Oof, what a headache that was.  But the engine should be a reliable performer.

It’s a bit much for an unremarkable car. NOTE: spray painting a mutt doesn’t change the fact that it’s a mutt.
