I have no skill whatsoever at body work and even so I don’t see anything here I couldn’t tackle. It looks like most of what’s needed is a new rad support, hood and grille, and figure out the headlight aiming. A few bonks with a hammer will tune up most of what’s left. And a bumper of course.  It looks like a square

“Ford is not worried,” nor should they be.

I’d take it at this price even with the cracked K. This is from when Lincoln set their sights on BMW and styling-wise, to my eyes, got ‘em. You could be excused for mistaking this for a concurrent 5-series.

The people advocating earliest and hardest for roads were bicyclists.

I’m agog to hear your better answer.

I bet this thing weighs a solid 6000 pounds sitting empty.

That absolutely needs to be taken into account.

It can’t be flat rate. That’s exposing EV buyers, especially early adopters who purchased the shorter range ones for modest city use, to a burden out of proportion with their use. It’s taxing them at a rate higher than many ICE drivers: If I use my old truck for the usual 20,000 miles per year I drive, I would be hit

And no fuel taxes.

Mostly objectively.  Steady state highway cruising it’s not that big a deal.  It’s a deal, but not a big deal.

There’s something especially miserable about having a feature right there and visible on the car, but not having it actually be usable.”

Don’t let the mileage put you off, that’s not even noteworthy on these things.

This thing looks solid.

Why tell me? I’m just a commentator.

I’ve watched the clip several times now and I’m not seeing the overheight sign light up at all.   I’m willing to make allowances for glare washing out the image but seriously - I don’t see it.  The sign is plain as day but it isn’t lighting in the vid.

Every 200 miles. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the wife asked that we keep more reserve in the tank and I, seeing no up- or downside either way, went along with it. We stop for a fuel a bit more often but it’s not that big a deal.

A running Unimog under $10,000 is a steal.  What’s wrong with it?  Is it full of dead bodies, spent nuclear fuel rods, what?

Those VW diesels are good for torque and longevity, so if you don’t need a lot of speed but do want it to run a good, long time, this is easily worth a look.

This killed a friend in college.  Rainy night, bald tires, off the highway he went.  Took out a pole.  Trying to climb up the embankment, he touched a downed wire.  Danny was dead on the scene.
