That’s called a train.
That’s called a train.
Limits on:
“and it’s probably a bad idea in general to sell a car with a top speed of 174.”
I’ve thought of this. What you want could be possibly be provided by a 4WD transfer case, if you were talking about rolling your own using off-the-shelf parts.
The cool thing about ladder frame construction is that, if you don’t have an exhaust, drivetrain and fuel tank taking up the space between the rails, then all of that volume is wide open for shoving in as many battery packs as will fit. It electrifies the truck to a significant degree. So often the complicating factor…
Small, indeed. This thing is about the same size as a brand new Tacoma.
Usually I would say that’s way too much, except what this vehicle is is essentially extinct from the American truck market. As such, its value as a full-size, bottom tier truck is growing.
It’s clearly harking back to the Manta A with its styling cues, but I was always more a fan of the Manta B and, more importantly, its sporting iteration the Manta 400.
I haven’t even read the article yet but I just want to call out the use of the word “punish.”
Sorted. Plenty of strong solutions readily available on the market since the model was so long in production.
This is one car that’ll be really easy to build as a LEGO model.
Nice! That’s a big power bump over even the top end IROC while keeping the weight out. It would be a sleeper. Or we could go completely insane and shove the L3B in there, bolted to the CT4's 8-speed auto.
The Camaro GenIII was available with the most ill-conceived engine pairing ever offered in a pony car, the Iron Duke.
It bugs me that you’re right.
A bit of weather checking on the tires tells me he doesn’t drive it much at all. So he’s selling it on because there’s little point in keeping it, not that there’s anything significantly wrong with it.
Okay, I’m back.
I wrote this before I realized the article goes on, I’m removing all of my comment until I can get greater context.
Seems like a lot of money for a 25 year old car, M or not. What was pretty good performance then is merely mid-pack now and can be had, decades newer and with only five digits showing on the odo, at this same price point.
You made my eyebrows go up with “the battery has dozens of unnecessary moving parts.”
It’s a relentless excoriation of VW, so you know it has to be Torch.
