Willys.
Willys.
I live in East Tennessee, where 30 inches of rain in a year is a drought, a bad one. Fifty inches is more typical.
I came here to say what Torch said. The xB is bonkers roomy inside while being shockingly economical in spite of its phone booth-like aerodynamics. One participant on ecomodder.com was regularly posting 40+mpg results in the records area and if I recall he hadn’t done any mods to the car.
Volt is a PIH.
She said roomy. Volt ain’t roomy. You pull it on like a pair of pants.
I was halfway hoping a Corvair enthusiast would weigh in.
Separate, high mounted lights for illuminating the curb and immediately in front of the vehicle would be good, too. They would shine down and sideways more than ahead, providing plenty of light for spotting the edge of the road and the mailboxes without adding more light down the road to dazzle drivers.
As prices go, a little crow is cheap. I would have posted the vid clip of the Crown Vic at Moab if I had remembered it, the larger question is why the heck didn’t I remember it. It is, after all, an epic clip and the ne plus ultra example of my point. Can it go where all the 4wd go? Of course not, not for most of the…
I always thought the original BMC Mini was an ugly little spud.
Radiators definitely an issue but I’d be inclined to fit a Honda Gold Wing 1800 and figure out the rads by whatever means necessary. Corvair engine is more or less unobtainium anymore.

Just pointing out that “proper offroading” is a mighty broad term to throw around when it can be often be answered with 2wd.
If you want me to spend extra, you put MY name on it. Not King Ranch, ELHIGH FUCKING RANCH.
I saw this and thought, there’s no way that’s legal...
Holy cow.
If you say so.
Cars are usually sold “as is.” I don’t see much point in including that. I’m always more surprised when a seller says, either in print or in person, that work is ongoing and the car will be different at the time of sale.
For another great one let me recommend Ronald Finger.
Louis is tapping into the hive mind of EV=powwwwaaaahhh when he hooks up with Garcia and EVWest. Those guys are the prophets and are rocking go-fast electric projects.
Oshkosh’s design specifies that it can be equipped with either an electric or ICE drivetrain. I imagine that as batteries continue to improve and more charging infrastructure is built in, ICE drivetrains due for replacement will be more and more replaced with EV systems, or at least hybrids. That’s how I’d run it.
