I'm sure actors etc utterly despise critics & would happily never deal with them if possible

Yeah, can you imagine x thousands of people telling you directly how much they hated your work, and what a hack you are? People work on these projects for years, and even if they know it's not perfect, I'm sure they care about the finished movie and the people involved.

The Watch podcast guys (I think) talked about this. Basically for something like the DC setup, the director is a hired gun to keep the whole show on the road. What's valued is an ability to bring in a movie on time, on budget, & pissing off as few people as humanly possible. They're not looking for an auteur, they're…

You're correct unfortunately. But the more people respond to criticism, the more they hang themselves out as punching bags for the world. They're in a no win situation.

Directors etc really need to stop responding to the internet & critics. It just feeds the herd mentality and angries up people for the next target. Make the film, take the paycheck and move on to the next project. For all the crap Synder takes (as an example), he's hugely in demand in his industry.

Come to think of it, I never saw Dick Whitman and Clint in the same foxhole..

Eh, in the face of all evidence to the contrary, old people have been saying the world is going to shit and the next generation are useless since Adam & Eve. One word for people who don't think humanity is making slow if painful progress: Dentistry

The Hoff? You keep using this word, I do not think it means what you think it means.

Just for Halloween… riiight

His parents were killed by Tusken raiders as well?

Daniel Day-Lewis started it all by being POTUS for a week as prep for Lincoln, becoming Irish for My Left Foot and learning to bowl for There will be a point to this film, but fucked if I know what it is

Zither music begins to play

"How many divisions does the Pope have?"

Pretty much every country through history treats their actual individual soldiers like crap during and after combat. As an abstraction, they're lionised, as real people they are feared and looked down on.

Do you not find my '80s pop cultural references cromulent? ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?

The shitstorm of recrimination and blame will be something else. After the last GE in the UK, there were a number of incredibly bitchy insider accounts from the Miliband camp. It will be that x1000 if Trump loses badly.

In the shower. With Patrick Duffy sans towel

Aha, I misunderstood. You don't hear much about Denmark in Ireland, just occasionally in happiest places to live in the world type articles

Yup, the UK is becoming more respectful towards the military (parades for war dead, the poppy, appearances at sporting events , armistice day, articles in the media) even if individual soldiers are still treated like crap

Is there no nationalistic anti immigrant party/movement in Denmark, however small? Would be the only European country without one by this stage..
