As a non-American I only know 4 of the 18 names here. And as an old person I’m just going to go ahead and grumpily declare that Gen Z doesn’t know what they’re doing.

“Three reports by the People’s Liberation Army obtained and reviewed by the US Commerce Department shed light on the depths of China’s brain warfare research and show that it has been underway for several years. The translated 2019 reports discuss developing brain control weaponry as part of what Chinese officials

“...shared footage of himself hurdling down I-25 at speeds approaching 180 miles per hour.”

Let me teach you. If you don’t know how shorting stocks works, don’t do it. It’s unlimited risk, limited reward. Not saying it can’t still be lucrative if you’re right but it can be financial ruin if you’re wrong.

Resident of Whatamook county.

I do not want my grocery store to be a casino. I know this is hyperbolic, but I see this as a slippery slope where one day it will be “Would you like to try double or nothing? Spin the wheel to win a free identical cartload of your groceries!” followed by a sad trombone sound and the cartwheels locking.

We saved a lot of money making our own cold cuts when our kids were in school but I was always super respectful to the point of low grade terror whenever I used that thing. Not like you get safety training. I’ve cut myself brutally with good knives, nevermind this spinning blade contraption.

Okay, and you said “that may be true in some places” so what are we debating here, really?

I hear you. The five pounds of meat is absolutely right. When I have the time I’ll slow cook a large Eye of Round to medium on a rotisserie over the BBQ and then let it rest for a few hours. Makes for great cold cuts for a big party or for packing and freezing for later. But slicing that by hand, even with a high end

Never accused anyone of being lazy or incompetent. Just saying this added an unnecessary task and another source of contaminant risk. And if someone took shortcuts in cleaning the slicer, I’d understand because it’s hardly simple or straight forward. But all that said, adding another trust issue isn’t compelling me to

I had a motorized meat slicer in my kitchen for years. Nothing over the top or industrial grade but it was great for more than just slicing meats; good for certain cheeses and veggies too. You could get paper-thin onion slices.

The children yearn for the mines.

I have to take my winter coat off when I’m driving but that’s because I’ll be absolutely roasting by the time I get to my destination and will have sweated through my shirt. Coat rated for -25 is a bit much with the temp set at +20.

3rd Gear: Let Dodge keep being Dodge for as long as they can go (I know, electric Charger and all...) and make Chysler the all-EV upscale mark. Bring back old nameplates like the Imperial and New Yorker. Build electric sedans. Younger buyers don’t even know those names so there’s no stress trying to rebrand a 300 or a

There was traffic cam video on local news (Toronto) this week of some assclown trying to use the snow-covered shoulder to race around a group of moving plows setting up an echelon formation on a multi-lane highway. It did not end well for this driver, and he was rightly roasted on social media for his stupidity.

Not saying it’s a good strategy, just a strategy.

Or, depending on your chaotic inclinations, you could escalate the situation and light up a cigarette in there.

So could you theoretically be locked inside a Tesla if the battery failed entirely for some unlikely but still possible reason? Having never been in a Tesla to know, did they disrupt the interior door handles too or just use normal, functional releases?
