If you’re trying to budget, shop your grocery store flyers/sales. Create a note on your phone (or wherever is best for you) where you list the best price per pound for meats or the best price you find for other items that you buy on a regular basis. Then if and when you find a better price, update the list

Take your business elsewhere or whatever but DO NOT hassle the frontline staff over this. They have no say in the matter and only have another new burden to bear. Literally people, this is why we can’t have nice things.

Not to spoil the rant but, thank you. I take a certain amount of pride in aging into an optimal state of crankiness.

At first glance the side profile looks like a Stinger. And don’t get me wrong, that isn’t a bad thing.

There is nothing specifically desirable about this car except its oddly nice condition. So do you pay a huge premium for that and then not drive it in the hope that at some point you can also sell this weird, non-desirable but great shape old car to someone else ten years from now? Or do you drive it regularly and

Don’t blame the cows. Blame all the wannabe influencers and their stupid “butter boards”.

A complete crap box. Something like a rusted out 2000 Mercury Sable that barely runs. Because fuck anyone who wants to get together after no contact for 30 years and then judge me. I don’t feel the slightest compulsion to impress anyone I went to high school with. They want to talk? Give them something to talk shit

Oh it’s hazing. Many years ago I worked at a company where high income was the expectation, not the exception. Young recruits were taken out to the most expensive restaurants, they were encouraged to wager amongst themselves on various business performance analytics, veteran staffers were encouraged to buy expensive

My trust issues run waaay too deep to ever consider putting my car on Turo, or using Turo from the renter side. People who use this site might as well be aliens to me.

This seems messy, wasteful, fattening and gross. And I say this as someone who likes butter.

This seller definitely knows what he has. Its in Museum Condition”.

Way past an age when I should have known better (or looked it up) I thought scallops were potatoes. Cuz scalloped potatoes. So if someone told me about imitation potato scallops, I would have believed that for much longer than acceptable.

Almost everyone who enjoys cars can confess to some stupid shit when they were younger. The big difference with what we’re talking about here, I think, is that for too many participants the car is secondary, and the shit-causing mayhem is the actual draw.

Wear the Cube Of Shame around their neck.

Exactly, seems like a huge reach to blame their relentless demise, something that’s arguably been ongoing for decades, on a switch to EVs. I mean, the super-hot take would blame socio-economics in that convertibles are a niche luxury vehicle and fewer people have the means to afford anything beyond necessary

Dude, you just bought that? I tracked my build sheet online and then snuck into the factory on assembly day, locked the foreman in his office and then ran the fucking assembly line like a boss and built not just my car but the whole day’s shift. You don’t even know dude.

Yeah, there were a lot of these things during lockdown in particular too.

The province of Ontario put “stunt driving” rules in place quite a few years ago. Initially I wasn’t a fan of all the rules because I thought they were written overly broadly and could catch people up in situations that weren’t genuinely stunt driving or street racing. But the truth is, as much as I like to believe

Not sure I see a parallel between using tools and being a capable driver. But even a capable driver can’t compensate for a shitbox that comes apart at speed.

This “built not bought” shit. Don’t get me wrong, backyard skills and DIY is awesome. And everyone should learn a little maintenance knowledge at a minimum. But this notion that paying someone to do the job correctly makes you less of an enthusiast or even worse, a lesser person, needs to go away. If it’s money that
