I haven’t seen this show nor am I likely to ever, but I can’t stand the “Robpine” name. Make it “Robopine” or “Robupine”. Otherwise it just sounds like an obscure relative of Chris Pine’s.
Ya’ll are sick fucks.

Making it even worse is that if you’re within $100, you win both showcases. So she not only barely lost her prizes, she barely missed out on winning both sets of prizes, which according to my quick math, would have added up to around $60,000 in stuff.
I think your last comment is probably correct. Actors like Torres or Nathan Fillion had been working in television and film for around 10 years each and wouldn’t be or couldn’t be intimidated by Whedon. They’ve been around, worked with a lot of different people, Fillion was in Saving Private Ryan.
She would have made a great Wonder Woman (as would Lucy Lawless, if we’re going with Xena era folks).
I am guessing that this conversation took place just before the whole Whedon discussion blew up. This is not a defense of him, but it also seems clear that different actors’ mileage varied greatly with him. He also gave immeasurable career boosts to numerous actors. Some of them, like Charisma Carpenter in particular,…
Joss [Whedon] was kind of like, “Hey, I want to give you this, ’cause the other thing didn’t work out. And you only got to wear one costume on Firefly so now you get to wear dresses and look really pretty, And while you’re doing that you’ll also be eating souls.”
Yes. This. Whedon’s work over the last couple three decades has been some of my favorite work. I enjoyed it a lot. It articulates genre based stuff I enjoy and did so in ways I think was wonderful. But it undeniably comes from a horrible person which means at some level, it’s an articulation of some pretty ugly stuff…
The difference between Joss Whedon and Louis CK is that Whedon actually made things that I enjoyed, while Louis CK I never thought was funny. I always thought he was an asshole. 20 years ago I had no idea Whedon was the dick he’s now coming out to be and I was enjoying the TV shows and movies he made.
Yeah, except that he hasn’t actually made even a half-assed apology attempt yet, has he? And, the fact that his whole professional identity was so tied to feminist ideals might alter that story arc (?). Hard to say.
She said “He’s not allowed in a room alone with Michelle again” which sounds like it was after a specific event, not based on an existing rule.
I do wish there was more context to this rule. Did something specifically happen to institute it re: JW and only on the BtVS set, or was it a rule in place in the industry to protect all child actors?
I realize that now is not the 1990s, but now all of the sports here, extracurricular activities, BSA, Girl Scouts etc…
The best part of the happy ending is that it was an intelligent, educated, compassionate Black man who came through with the solution and the skills.
I saw a short video on YouTube by Daily Gist where it was removed. Seeing a Black surgeon carefully and tenderly attending to a Black woman’s hair and scalp moved me to tears. I was certain her hair was done. He found a way to resolve the problem while preserving what was important to her. It reminded me of the sister…
Yeah, how many rough and tumble, strong female hero type characters get played by actors who don’t look like they stepped off the cover of fashion magazine, weighing in at just over 90lbs?
Kids also die from heat exhaustion and dehydration in those programs. I’m not saying the concept is bad but the execution leaves much to be desired a lot of the time.

When someone says “it saved their life” they probably mean it.
Did you spot the other big mistake? It appears to be made out of some sort of fabric instead of metal.
