The 2 mile/6 hour thing is just baffling. I’ve been near the back of a mile+ line for RI Comic Con, and once the doors opened, it only took 30 minutes or so until I was actually inside, which isn’t that much slower than humans actually walk.

I like Armada a lot better than X-Wing. X-Wing is mostly figuring out hot-shot maneuvers for your next turn. Armada requires knowing where you’ll be 3 turns in advance, and as a result has considerably more strategic depth.

Power cycling my phone takes at least 30 seconds. Closing apps and toggling airplane mode takes <5 and results in no noticeable battery drain over 3 hours.

Airplane mode. No reason to drain battery for 3 hours of inactivity, risk the temptation to peek, or risk having one of those phones that makes noise in response to repeated calls from the same person in DnD mode.
