You must be fun at parties. Thankfully there is little chance of you attending a party these days.

“What is the problem here? How fucking hard is it to wear a mask when you are out in a public place, and within somewhat close proximity to each other?”
They’re outside. Stop it.
“If your modern car detects you going over 120 mph around other living people in a public area, it should spontaneously combust inside.”
How about you hire people who want to write about automotive issues instead of trying to write political articles disguised as automotive articles? I am all for having diverse viewpoints about automobiles and automotive culture. I could not care less about your political opinions. There are already numerous writers…
I’d like to head up a new Malaiselopnik sub-brand of Jalopnik, where we celebrate the underwhelming awesomeness of American automobiles from 1973~1988. We’ll acknowledge the belief that the Big Three were doing the best they could while trying to deal with emissions regulations, Japanese imports, and cheap cocaine. No …
“In the face of a crippling pandemic and job crisis, the company has decided to do what it does best: maximize shareholder value.”
Capitalist news flash: Companies work to benefit shareholders. That’s exactly and entirely the purpose of a company. All companies exist for the benefit those that own it, whether it’s two guys in a taco truck to ExxonMobil. If they aren’t in it for that, they’re called charities.
You know what? I stand corrected. https://www.cnbc.com/2020/07/13/racing-series-srx-tony-stewart-nascar-ban-confederate-flag.html
Robby Gordon started something like this about 8 years ago and it’s a crowd pleaser.
The inability to see systemic racism and to actively defend it makes someone racist.
So to all the they are just peaceful protests crowd, I’m curious. If, lets say a Pro-Life organization was having a “peaceful” protest outside of (insert capital building here) and a group of people showed up and started breaking windows, setting building on fire, looting the Best Buy, and turing cars over while…
I think the BLM = terrorism was spawned from seeing all the businesses and communities get destroyed. The BLM movement struggled at least initially to distinguish the people protesting inequality and the anarchists just there to break shit. And to be fair there definitely was over lap between the groups.
I grew up there. I remember the cops coming down hard on jaywalkers and cyclists on sidewalks because there was nothing else to do. The transformation of community police departments into paramilitary organizations is ridiculous. By no means does Walnut Creek need this.
I mean, size creep has been happening in every segment for decades. A 2020 Honda Fit has the same head and leg room as a 1990 Accord, its just a little narrower. A VW Polo now is bigger than a 1990 Golf. The list goes on.
Terrible take; the union workers are getting their full pay regardless of the situation. They’re certainly not facing the same hardships as other people who’ve permanently lost their jobs. Meanwhile, no one is buying cars, FCA is losing billions (this isn’t last year) and 12 million could certainly go a long way in…
I really find it hard to understand how you can fault a company for correcting a pay error. This is not some elaborate plan to screw over the little guy, they are simply fixing an over payment.
What grievance would the UAW have? How dare you follow the contract we signed?
Nonsense. The government has infinite money. And billionaires will loan them more if they run out. And if not we’ll tax their companies of their infinite corporate wealth. The people will be insulated from the cost of this crisis entirely as long as we vote correctly.
Surely this won’t continue to work like basing a portion of a state’s budget on tobacco taxes, then having to scramble to fill the gap when people actually do quit performing the action you attempted to curtail.
