Yeah this article could have been a lot better for sure
By the way he specifically called out “battery vehicles” I think he might be trying to create some separation between today’s “EVs” and Hydrogen - which Honda do have a substantial investment in.
Because it fits so easily into their political outlook.
I respect this point of view, however its worth also keeping in mind that if you want to go racing in the absolute highest performing cars on the planet there’s still a huge gulf between F1 and everything else. More so now since the end of LMP1.
You identified the issue but respectfully I think you don’t realize just how big the gap is! Petrol/Gas has around 100 times the energy density of current Li-ion batteries.
Congratulations you win the most misleading off-hand incorrect use of numbers for the internet today!
Maybe the date of the original article was missed in the rush to copy/paste

Current GT3 is 5-6 seconds faster around Spa. Thats a huge difference.
they aint getting any smaller... *sigh*
As the other commenter said, I think this is very much dependent on the series and the different BoPs and regulations. Considering the CUSTOMER GT2RS’s are setting lap records pretty much everywhere I’d say they are still the benchmark GT manufacturer
The have Gil de Ferran!!

This! Even as a long time McLaren fan (its been a hard ten years) I think Alonso needs to cut his ties with them if he has any hope of achieving his ambitions.
Im not sure I read it the same way as you. I don’t see any accusations made and the authors appear to have gone to great lengths to make counterpoints and rebuttals to their findings (such as the registered office address).
