I think they genuinely enjoy doing South Park — and don't really care of the audience loves every episode.  They are making themselves laugh.

I'm pretty sure they are under contract from many years back (a large chunk of that worth).  They were big, but it was all SP — not the main stream credibilty that TBOM gave them.
