Pretty good, also interesting in that it’s set basically in a Fantasy Italy during the Renaissance rather than a generic medieval period. Works good with the setting, which is mostly low fantasy, and the subject matter of gentlemen thieves.

The Sword of the South I think has been sitting on a shelf for 30 years. Much of it was related to his homebrew RPG setting from before he starting writing professionally. I know he pitched it ~25 years go when he started writing with Baen along with Honor Harrington, Safehold and Empire from Ashes.
