I haven’t tried it myself but once you have the app downloaded its supposed to detect proximity to the car and work completely hands free for locking and unlocking, “starting”. you just walk up and open the door with your hands.

car companies salivate over the type of brand equity Tesla has seemed to conjure out of thin air. Some OEM would buy that brand. Fiat or VAG would be obvious choices if they want to make a huge play into the electric game.
