I’m clearly not cut out for this because I’m like, why not just swap in a newer motor

You are right about everything, but I also think that certain cars have a fatal design flaw that few cars have the character to overcome. Interference motors with bad timing chain or belt designs is a perfect example. Sure we all know about the early 2000s Audis with this problem. But no one talks about how the Ford…
I guess they more or less manufacture on time...
I think BMW only picks one of those
Are you sure VW owners have no stereotypes?
The different between the two ads is certainly an unfortunate typo right? Omitting the “1" on the cheaper price
Isn’t this the same dude that got in this huge fight about his 4 rotor motor that got lost in shipment or something? Seems like this bs follows him around. I see a common denominator
But if you enjoy it that’s fine, it’s a hell of a lot better than a fake M badge on an unmodified 325, that’s for sure
You are very defensive about this. I don’t know about “falling prey to the marketing gods” but I dislike cross platform engine swaps and deliberately misleading cosmetic bits (including M packages, AMG line nonsense etc)
If you plan on driving your sports car in the winter, I disagree. Driving with summer tires in the winter is a great way to get in a wreck.
And yet, it’s still an M badge on a non M car. Which is still dumb.
Same here actually. It’s not that I can’t make it work, but I’m a gamer also. When I struggle with stuff like that, people my parents age will struggle twice as hard.
Only 500 produced? I had no idea they were that rare. I used to see one around where I live semi frequently. But I haven’t seen it in years.
🤔
Yea, the Alfa dealer in Louisville KY is at the Maserati dealer. Which is the same autogroup here that sells Porsche, Land Rover Jaguar and Audi. No issue there.
As far as I know, it doesn’t engage Park automatically. It’s a loaner. I put it in reverse and let my foot off the brake in a parking spot multiple times.
Disagree. This is on a new Audi A4. This is terrible design. See how easy it is to put this in Reverse instead of Park? Engaging park requires pushing the button. If you shift up to the top you are in reverse. 25 years of driving experience dies hard and there is no functional design improvement in changing it
My B8 Audi S4 with the six speed manual, sometimes when I shift from 3rd to 4th, the car revs up high as I let out the clutch, like I’m about to downshift to second and it’s rev matching for me, then as soon as I let the clutch all the way out, it goes back to normal. It’s incredibly intermittent. Happens once maybe…
A MT for the Compass and not the Giulia? WTF fiat?
Fwiw I was in the same boat, financed a car I could have bought in cash because even at 60 months, total interest paid was like $300, why not finance and keep the money in the bank for a rainy day?
