Thanks!

Apple have always offered education/bulk buying discounts, but I assumed that was standard practice across retailers. Perhaps not.

It continues to astound me that there is always money for technology, and never any for staff...

Ah, That makes sense. Thanks for explaining.

Airports are the place where the timezone you're in doesn't matter, it's all about the timezone you feel.

I'm confused about why schools are purchasing them instead of those little notebook-style laptops. They're about the same price, right? And, as you say, come with a keyboard and can more easily be monitored. Seems weird.

I think I was about 13 when I had an email address and basically used it to chat to school friends (ie people I already knew irl) and play neopets. My parents would wander in and out of the room (family computer) and look at what I was doing. I got my own computer with internet access when I was about 15 I think.

That reenactment is everything

This is one of my favourite things

Me too. It's because he was in High School for so long...

Oh god. I've just had a flashback. I used to work at a place that did all day breakfast, and before 12 all breakfasts came with a free coffee or pot of tea. People were very anxious about getting their free drink, because god forbid that they'd have to spend an extra £1 on a beverage.

They're not 'lax', it's deliberate. Lax implies that no one's thought about it or gives a shit

A friend from school got married last summer and she said exactly the same happened to her, people we'd been at school with ten years ago (and hadn't spoken to her since) came out of the woodwork asking about her wedding plans like they assumed they'd be invited. It was superfucking weird.

That's how it works in Sweden. There isn't actually a minimum wage, but the unions are very strong here, so in practice the lowest people earn/h is about 120KR (17$?). Then you pay high taxes, and lots of stuff (eduction, transport, healthcare...) is massively subsidised. So, it makes it expensive to visit, but to

Yes, he is also Stormageddon's Not Mum

Naked baby-bums have no place on tables

When I worked at Starbucks the manager (and, I suspect two of the supervisors) concocted a robbery, nothing could be proved but he was let go and the supervisors left of their own volition soon after. We had no cameras and it was Christmas week (very very busy) so they did very well...

Haha! Photoshop fail!

Argh! Annoying (sorry, I'm a Brit, it's my go-to shirt place)

I was at my parents' place last week picking up some of my stuff (where it is stored as I study/bum my way around for a bit), and was looking for a vintage women's blazer*, when my mum goes "Oh, I've got a really nice men's blazer you can have if you want", so I put it on and... SO MANY POCKETS! POCKET IN POCKETS!
