Nearly is an objective term but losing control and sliding across the median within feet of opposite direction freeway traffic is closer to death than most people get in their daily routine.

Here in HI, electricity costs about triple the national average. Assuming 101MPGe was calculated at $.12/kWh, (national average) and Hawaii is about $.33/kWh, the MPGe would be about 37. Makes the premium price for electric less attractive.
In the last year, my car has been side swiped twice by other vehicles while parked with no note. The last time was just last week on a government facility and I was parked right in front of a camera. Just my luck, they did maintenance on the security system a couple days before and forgot to press “record”. Most…
“...the new ECTO-1 isn’t nearly as visually interesting as the original movie’s car.”
I agreed to purchase a Golf R for MSRP from my local dealer and asked that they not drill holes in the front bumper for the license plate during prep. When I went to pick it up, (no papers signed at this point), the shop had already drilled the holes. The dealer could have legally told me to take it or leave it and…
Once you express “outrage” over stories like this, your ego prevents you from accepting new evidence that contradicts your initial impression. Better off not passing judgement on situations with little or one sided information.
From what I can tell, you can buy a BMW 2002 for less than a Datsun 510 in similar condition. Am I missing something? Wasn’t the 510 a cheap knock off of the 2002 at the time?
I was friends with one of the pilots on that flight and he described the incident to me at KNSE. From what I remember, his description pretty much matches the article.
Probably a future poor man classic like the 240Z or RX7 but too many examples to compete with low volume sports cars for “classic” status.
My uncle told me that 4X4 was the dimensions of the truck’s bed which I believed until high school when I ended up on the losing side of an embarrassing argument.
I have seen 60's muscle cars in Thailand that presumably were abandoned after the Vietnam conflict by American GI’s that had engine swaps with small four cylinders out of necessity.
Nailed it. I imagine fantasies of being race car drivers factor in a bit too.
I actually like the Juke in an odd way but the PT Cruiser was a bad vehicle. Terrible build quality IMHO. I broke the seat in a new one just by sitting in it.
The more important question is do I want to be driven instead of driving myself. The answer is no.
I’m the first person to support supply and demand in a free market but there should be some government regulation to protect consumers from price gouging. Not to say a New Year’s ride shouldn’t cost more, you have to motivate someone to work on a holiday, but 8.9 times multiplier is extreme.
WRC should change the rules to front engine, rear wheel drive.
Very smart! Would have been smarter if they hadn’t told everyone about it.
We didn’t have a “slumping economy” in the mid 2000’s. It was rapidly growing up to about 2007 then rapidly crashing.
Articles like this remind me of opinion pieces on Fox News or MSNBC. That’s a bad thing.
