I don’t think it just applies to Nintendo. Someone did a “Spyro in Unreal 4" demo and it looked hideous too. To these renderers (lets not call them artists), they seem dead set on removing all whimsy and character from these games.

Always is. But once it’s released that’s it. The content is out, and I like that Nintendo respect that. Shigsy has always said Mario World was rushed, but 24 years later they still haven’t added it.
