My mom ran into this ordering a Grand Marquis 20-ish years ago, wanting it in a lighter blue. “They don’t make them in that color!”, said the salesman. “The people who buy these cars don’t like bright colored cars.”
Mom wanted to say, “Can you see me or did I leave the house invisible again?”

I love the Rivian blue and yellow, both extra cost color options (boo).

I would like to point out that Rivian chose to paint serial #000001 with an actual color. Apparently every other manufacturer has consumed the world’s supply of white, black, grey, and silver lacquer.

Rivian is cool because they offer a green interior, and they even let you order the green interior with any exterior color, including red and yellow :o)

In 1991, I was sitting in the passenger side of a 1990 Camaro in my driveway and struck by an out-of-control Camry that skidded down a hill in the rain, flew across a ditch, over a culvert and directly into my door. I got a broken collarbone and slashed ear from the seatbelt and both cars were totalled. To this day, I

Incorrect.

Good. Now ban them from Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace. It’s impossible to search for used cars around here without being slapped in the face with hundreds of Carvana ads.

What a shock. Chinese government wants to see data car makers are collecting. Isn’t that the height of irony, given they collect all kinds of data from their citizens and a country where individual privacy is not something that’s sacred or protected. Yeah, it’s not red tape. They want to see their code so they can

I got involved in racing as an adult, and I just cannot fathom any parent letting their child risk his life like this. I’m sorry, but the race track is no place for kids.

It was the moment my dad picked me up from middle school in his 1989. For context, this was roughly 2002, in the US. I hadn’t yet realized not every household had a diesel sedan with a manual transmission and pneumatic suspension.

I’ve heard of some bad experiences at Ashley Schaeffer Kia

Dammit. One of the few truly great-looking cars available today.

bring us the wagon or gtfo!

I have a conspiracy theory that the real reason auto companies push crossovers so hard is because they can make them cheap and shitty to drive but people will still buy them in droves. Sedans actually have to be good to sell, that requires effort.

“Or why you’d drive with the top up and the windows up on sunny days during the summer.”

I’ve had one of these since 2008, and I love it:

The NC Miata with the Power Retractable Hard Top (PHRT). The top folds completely out of the way (unlike the RF) and doesn’t take up any more storage space than the soft top.   As a NC PRHT owner I’m very disappointed by the Miata RF.

It’s actually become a self-fulfilling prophecy. They nuked the fun cars when Millenials had no disposable income and when those in Gen-X were dealing with the debt and fallout of the ‘08 crash. Well, Gen-X is hitting retirement age as their finances finally grow again and Millenials have money now. Except during the

Convertible aficionado and E93 328i owner here - this makes me tremendously sad. The hardtop on my 3-er makes the car so livable in all conditions (ok, it doesn’t snow here) that I just love it. Greatly improves the effectiveness of the AC on the days it’s too hot for the top down over my previous soft top. Much
